I produced this earthenware sculpture from found clay that I harvested from 4 Texas Rivers: The Rio Grande, Colorado, Trinity and Pedernales Rivers. I have foraged clay from these rivers over the years and recently blended them in an effort to make a very durable and versatile clay body that was distinctively Texan. I also wanted to use smooth and simple shapes to emphasize an element of water or expression of river. Fired to cone 03.
