I produced this earthenware sculpture from found clay that I harvested from 4 Texas Rivers: The Rio Grande, Colorado, Trinity and Pedernales Rivers. I have foraged clay from these rivers over the years and recently blended them in an effort to make a very durable and versatile clay body that was distinctively Texan. I also wanted to use smooth and simple shapes to emphasize an element of water or expression of river. Fired to cone 03. This piece is now Klein blue in color as pictured in photo.
