Blue period unlocked. Blue Nude 2 is a personal favorite of mine. Drawing inspiration from Matisse’s later cubist collages, this ceramic quotation collapses the figure even further into a continuity of abstract shapes and forms - familiar territory for me. The way this Yves Klein blue underglaze absorbs light - so evenly - is a dream. Made from Longhorn Red clay - produced locally, at Armadillo Clay, in Austin.
